You suddenly start to realise there is an awful lot out there and it’s very hard (especially for a first time buyer) to know where to go and what to buy. We always do our best to make shopping in our store as easy as possible whether you are 200 miles away, or in store talking face-to-face to a member of our team. We will never try and force a sale or even push you into making a purchase you are unsure about; we offer open and honest advice about any of our products and our priority is to provide you with the correct guitar for your needs.
So before you get started and for the first time buyers let us explain the difference between solid body electric guitars and semi-acoustic electric guitars.

A solid body guitar is what most people think of when they first think of an electric guitar. It is a solid build with no sound box and relies purely on an electronic pickup system to create the sound. The most common woods used in the build of solid body electric guitars are maple, mahogany, alder, rosewood and spruce. Solid body electric guitars are used in lots of different styles of music but they are most seen within rock / heavy metal bands and being played by famous modern day blues guitarists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.
Bestselling Semi Acoustic Electric Guitars
Vintage VSA555 Series Ebony BlackWas: £419.00 £339.00 Free Delivery |
Semi Acoustic or Hollow Bodied Electric Guitars combine both a sound hole with a pickup for a very distinguished sound. These are not the same as Electro Acoustic guitars which is an acoustic guitar with a pickup system built in. Semi Acoustic Guitars are designed to be used with an amplifier and the sound box is simply used to give a more amplified tone which is very different to that of a solid body guitar.
